When is Surgical Wound Care Needed?

Our providers may recommend surgical suite or OR wound care if:

  • Conservative management has not led to improvement
  • Deep or limb-threatening infection is present
  • Extensive necrotic tissue cannot be managed
  • Patient’s medical complexity requires a higher level of care
  • Reconstructive or limb salvage surgery is needed, including grafts, flap coverage, surgical offloading, or amputation for infection control and pain relief
