Introducing Cameron JointAccess Ortho & Urgent Care

ANGOLA — Cameron Health announced Wednesday the reshaping of its Urgent Care clinic space, adding walk-in orthopedic care services, the health system announced.

The updated services, JointAccess Ortho & Urgent Care, create a new model of care designed to integrate orthopedic, sports medicine and urgent care services into a single point of access for patients, delivered by specialized providers with advanced training in musculoskeletal and acute care.

JointAccess Ortho is designed to address urgent orthopedic needs, providing timely evaluation and treatment for conditions such as fractures and breaks, sprains, strains and joint pain. Located alongside Urgent Care, 1381 N. Wayne St., it offers patients a convenient option for focused orthopedic expertise, while urgent care services continue to operate as usual for non-life-threatening medical concerns.

The JointAccess Ortho and Urgent Care Clinic will offer:

  • Immediate evaluation and treatment for sports medicine and non-sports-related orthopedic injuries, as well as urgent medical needs;
  • streamlined coordination between providers for a seamless patient experience
  • and reduced wait times and improved access to care;

This addition reflects Cameron Health’s continued commitment to improving access to care and enhancing patient experience, the news release said. Patients now have a clearer pathway to the appropriate level of care, whether for general urgent needs or orthopedic-specific concerns.

Supporting this expanded level of care, Dr. Christopher Gasaway, has moved from primary care into the new clinic, allowing him to practice at the full scope of his dual board certification in family and sports medicine.

This transition enhances Cameron Health’s ability to provide specialized sports medicine services for patients of all ages. Cameron Health also recently welcomed Dr. Jordan Geroski, sports medicine, as part of this expansion.

Gasaway completed his medical degree from Kansas City University and received his family medicine residency through Reid Health and a sports medicine fellowship through Community Health Network in Indianapolis.

Geroski joins Cameron Health with nearly a decade of experience as a sports medicine physician, providing non-surgical care to help patients of all ages prevent and recover from injuries. She collaborates closely with orthopedic physicians, therapy teams and primary care providers to keep patients active and engaged in daily life.

“Cameron Health is proud to expand access to acute orthopedic care, sports medicine and urgent care services in our community through this integrated care model,” said Angie Logan, president & CEO, Cameron Health. “By combining sports medicine and urgent care expertise in one location, we are improving access, enhancing coordination, and ensuring patients receive timely, appropriate care without unnecessary delays.”

Supporting this integrated approach, Dr. Charles MacLean and Tammi McCoy, physician’s assistant, bring depth and versatility to the clinic’s provider team.

Their ability to care for both urgent care and orthopedic patients, combined with McCoy’s sports medicine and orthopedic background, enhances continuity of care. This collaborative model allows providers to align expertise and streamline the patient experience from evaluation through treatment.

“We’re excited to help reshape how these services are being delivered to our community,” said MacLean, medical director, JointAccess Ortho and Urgent Care. “By adding orthopedic services to the clinic, we’re expanding access and creating a more seamless path for patients to receive timely, specialized care. This is a meaningful step forward for both Cameron and our region.”

JointAccess Ortho and Urgent Care is now open and offering their full spectrum of services to patients. Patients may notice updated signage in the coming weeks, along with continued enhancements to the clinic space to support this new clinic.
